Moles are small, burrowing mammals that do not live in Davis itself. However, there is one species of mole in Yolo County: the native northern broad-footed mole (Scapanus latimanus), which lives in the foothills of Yolo County, plus in the Dunnigan Hills, and also along the Sacramento River upstream of Verona.
